Re: ProQ Trailblazer Mods with Pics

Sorry that I've neglected this post for a while but I've had a few other projects on.
@Fleagle I had a bit of trouble with temps as well before switching to BigK Restaurant Charcoal. I checked the calibration on the thermometer and mine was fine but I still think that it because of it's position ...

Great Customer Service from Mac's BBQ

It's rare that I find customer service that exceeds expectations but Mac's have just done it. I finally ordered a cover to fit my ProQ Trailblazer Deluxe but was sent one to fit the slightly smaller Maverick. In a rush to cover my 'Q' I failed to notice the error for a few days but one evening after ...

Re: ProQ Trailblazer Mods with Pics

Thanks Craig, that's the stuff I was looking for!

I was contacted by Vitcas who agreed that there was no reason for the adhesive to fail so they have sent me a replacement order. They also sent me some more fire rope which I can't think of a use for but it is a nice gesture.

Re: ProQ Trailblazer Mods with Pics

Further to the above update I've contacted Vitcas, the manufacturer and the people I bought the rope and adhesive from. Their customer support was rubbish TBH: having contacted them via email they looked up my phone number from the order and eventually decided to call me at lunchtime to ask me to ...

Re: ProQ Trailblazer Mods with Pics

Just wanted to give you a quick update about the fire rope seals. Despite using lots of adhesive they have all fallen off. It might be due to the change in weather but I have read that this happens quite a lots with the adhesive the company provides. I have contacted the company but don't expect ...

Re: 1st Pork Shoulder - Lots of Pics

I agree that 65C is too low unless you plan on cooking for at least 79hours, it was a bit tongue in cheek!

It's not even reached safe pork eating temp (160F-165F) although it probably rose 10 degrees while resting.

The method MC are quoting won't actually cause a temperature rise, because it's ...

Re: 1st Pork Shoulder - Lots of Pics

Did the pork pull ok?

Parts did, others not so well. I think it would have been worth cooking for at least another 3 hours. The bits that were a problem were those right in the recesses of the bone. I'm guessing that this is because of the connective tissue they have around them (to attach them ...

1st Pork Shoulder - Lots of Pics

Hi everyone,
Hopefully you might have come here after reading my Hello from Fulham (with pic) or my ProQ Trailblazer Mods with Pics post. The second one has loads of pictures which if you're anything like me are far more interesting than words!

Anyway here's my writeup of my first proper low 'n ...
