A lot of the books I am reading and programs I'm washing use kosher salt. What's the advantage and anyone know where I can get it. Only looked in Tescos so far and they don't have it.

Cheers

just buy Malden or something similar...I'm sure that kosher salt was never intended for ribs and butts! :D

It's just non iodised sea salt. Malden is an ideal substitute as John says.

I know a Jewish guy who sprinkles kosher salt on bacon and sausage sandwiches and then says it makes them kosher. I somehow think his rabbai wouldn't agree

Kosher salt has been "blessed" for the Jewish people......They do it here in the town Im from at a place that makes food products. I believe its still salt from under ground.....just because we have LOTS of salt companies here. I do know its not small salt granules but its salt slivers "sliced salt" and it dissolves without boiling rather quickly.
