hello,
as mavericks are stupidly hard to get hold of in the uk, can anybody suggest a half decent digital thermometer that is readily available?
thanks

Don't be tempted by the cheaper model, the extra money is well spent for increasing the wireless performance, even if you're BBQ isn't that far away it's amazing how much signal you lose through the walls of your house

cheers. my budget allows either the digital thermometer and the thermopen replica from docs 2nd link, OR the cheaper maverick from his 1st link. for my level of bbq, ie - stuff you'd be glad to eat but no intentions of catering or comping right now, what would you suggest?

It depends on what you cook most, if it's sausages, chicken quarters and burgers with the occasional pork shoulder or brisket then the combo. If it's more low and slow than grilling then I'd go for the maverick.

WSM temp gauges vary in accuracy from dead on to 50 degrees out

It's for my one touch but want one as well for my brinkman so i can see better readout instead of low Med high.
