Smoker recommendation

It's depends on what you want to start smoking and how many people you see yourself cooking for.

If you're wanting to start off with smoking ribs & chicken you might want to look at a Weber Kettle bbq as using the indirect cooking method you can cook some great stuff and it can also be used for grilling your burgers, steaks and other bits.

If you're wanting a dedicated smoker and cooking for family and friends i'd recomend the ProQ frontier as for it's price it's a good little cooker or if you want to cook for a larger group go for the ProQ Exel20.

Weber also have their smokers the WSM's which are good but if you're just starting off the ProQ's fire control will be more forgiving than the WSM.

I agree with Ed. I started out on a Weber kettle, too, and it is an excellent all-rounder, allowing you to grill and do indirect heat. If you catch the bug, at some point you will want to buy something more (I went for a pellet grill), but even then, the Weber kettle will still have its uses.

I went stright in for a PRO Q Excel 20 and I have taken some great food off it. Toby had a couple for a really good price, if you decide on one, it might be worth giving him a e-mail. But if webber one touch is your thing, the BBQ PIT BOYS on you tube have some really good recipes to inspire you.
