BEER CAN CHICKEN ON KETTLE

Post by BASCOM »

just a little heads up for any one thats thinking of getting one of these beer bird roasters,
my missis got me one as a surprise on my birthday.

after putting a can of beer and a chicken on it, i stuck it on my weber kettle and low and behold the lid didnt fit ( and it wasn't even a BIG chicken)..
even after changing the beer can for a coke can, the lid then only just fitted

just a little heads up

Put the Chicken down on the charcoal grate!!!! Bank the charcoal to one side and foil the rest of the grate, I use a couple of fire bricks to keep the coals in place. Remember that as you are cooking lower down in the kettle the temps will be lower so crank the bottom vent open more than usual. Hope this helps.
