What's the price on a smokenator shipped in though?
There's also the Cajun Bandit conversion kit but after shipping you're getting pricey.

I've just looked at my old invoice and shipped it cost $112 and i remember having to pay another £14 for import and customs. So roughly all together it was around £90 delivered.
Admittedly when i look at what it actually is (a bend bit of steel cut to fit) it was quite a lot of money but it does the trick, although i did still upgrade to a dedicated smoker not long after getting it.

Not as much as I thought then £90 isn't too bad.
What's a Frontier come in at these days £150?

They've gone up now and are £180 new.
Looking at some of the deals available on WSM's, i'd prefer to spend the additional £80 to get a WSM as you get so much more compared to the frontier.

Agreed, but it's easy to say that when you've got the money to do it I guess. Unless I upgrade to a cabinet and spend serious cash I'll stick with my WSM's, they're very hard to beat.

Many many thanks to all
I was confident that I'd get a structured answer to my question.
I've decided to save a few sheckles and buy a WSM when I've got enough (Birthday in October as well).
One last question, can a WSM be used as a portable using the base and the lid? This could solve my issue when we frequent the caravan.
Was toying with the idea of a Pro Q but being a 'tackle tart' as I'm known in the carp fishing circles, everything has to match otherwise it's uneasy on the eye. Therefore a WSM sat neatly next to my OTP will satisfy my obsessive desires
Thanks again guys and gals
John

Last question..I promise (ish..)
Can a WSM be used as a portable, ie using just the base and lid?

Sadly it's a no as the rim of the lid and fire bowl are rounded out so they don't fit securly together. You could buy a grill to place over the base of the WSM though to use as a grill if you wanted to do that.
I know some people will say that this is an area where the ProQ is better, but i did this with my Excel and melted the handle off
