Aye it's the reference site for WSM's alright.
But you can imagine some of the posters sat round their bullets wearing anoraks and writing in their notebooks

I know we can all get a bit at times with our BBQing - especially if a new toy is involved, but some of these guys seem to have lost the point of sitting back and chilling!
Anyway, back on topic - the WSM is awesome. I love mine, it has been nothing but a joy to use since I got it and now I know what I'm doing with it it is getting better every cook!

And the best news is that it will continue to get better. The more you use it, the better the seasoning inside will get and this seals up all the tiny little gaps. The best food always comes off the most heavily used smokers
That's not even taking into account you'll get better too

Stick the smoker on, get to temp, put seasoned meat on then grab a beer or 8 and sit for a few hours feeling no pain at all....

I have just been emailed a discount code from Dawsons department store. This is where I bought my One Touch Gold and Go Anywhere.
Offered 15% off their list price of £314.99 so got it for £267.74 inc free delivery.
Result!!

Just taken delivery of my new 47cm WSM.
The Interlink delivery bloke was a little suspicious when he saw the size of the box and the fact there was a label stating the weight was 5KG. I think they missed the 2 off the 25.
Can't wait to get her assembled and fired up.
Can't fault the service and price from Dawsons either.

what would you recommend in maintenance each year? would you clean the interior and season it, or just season it ontop of last years smoke?

I wouldn't clean it out unless there's big globs of fat in there. I sometimes wipe out a few bits of crap that build up.
One thing to be careful of is that if you don't use your smoker over winter and store it outdoors under a vinyl cover, you may find a little mould in there come spring. Nothing a wipe and a quick burn won't solve though.
