Well this thing is SOLID! So different to the Brinkmann!

One exception though - the door! WTF is that piece of crap about??

I am no expert but I think I read somewhere that you can get a replacement door which is more solid

And a lot of us still use the original door.
I have not had any issues with it.

I'm sure it'll be fine, I was just surprised to find that it's not hinged and looks like it will fall off every time you open it. Time will tell! Just surprise as every other part appears so well thought out/built.

It works, trust me.
If it aint broke don't try and fix it!
Unless you are Comp cooking and temps are vital stick with what you have got, many, many ,happy owners on here.
Get used to its little foibles first before trying to change it.
When you can drive it to your satisfaction, then think about tinkering.
All the best and Happy Smokin!

Door is functional. Cajun Bandit door is better but still suffers from the biggest issue with the WSM. The door latch is absolute dog s!@t and if you ever do any H&F it will likely fail on you.

My 18.5 currently has the door tied in place with string. Yes string

Hot and Fast V High temps for a shorter period. Myron Mixon (US BBQ champ) swears by his H&F Brisket. BBQ Fanatics have done well with this technique as well.
