WSM set-up problem

Hi folks - first post!
I have just taking delivery of a WSM but have an issue with the assembly. When it arrived, the heat shield had no holes for the legs. Rather than attempt a DIY job, I returned to the place I bought it from and they swapped the heat shield from their display model.

Unfortunately, the Centre Section and Bowl Assembly sections do not fit snugly. It wobbles badly (the centre part, not the legs) and there are gaps, which I assume is not good! I've tried loosening the bolts on the legs, but it doesn't help. Would you recommend I return it? Meanwhile, I have a fridge full of quality meat, and guests arriving tomorrow evening

Matt

Sounds like a manufacturing problem. I would return it and ask for another one. They all wobble a bit and have uneven gaps but this sounds way worse than normal. If you do bite the bullet (no pun intended) and use it Weber customer service is brilliant and they will sort out the required replacement parts, all it takes is a quick call and a few pictures.

The body shouldnt wobble on the base, there should be no gaps round that.

Thanks everyone - the seller (Garden Pride in Ditchling) was very understanding. They replaced my unit with their display unit and gave me another 20% off plus a free recipe book. I'd already got 20% off so a very good deal in the end, although it all means it's too late to cook for tonight :(
