Flavorwood smoke tins with reasonable shipping prices to the UK

I have some of these and will beat any of their prices

Paul, have you used them and are they as good as advertised? If they are good it seems a relatively inexpensive way to try new wood, Pecan for example.

I'm wondering what the difference is between these and just wrapping wood in some foil, or getting one of those smoker boxes for your BBQ.

Hi Keith ... er course I haven't tried them, can't BBQ to save my life.

Clive from Cookequip has loads, I have a couple rolling around in the back of my car.

I think it's just a nice outer package and just some little lumps of wood inside.

Other then being "Gucci Kit" I doubt if there is any difference, but it does provide a way of taste testing small quantities of different woods. For instance Cyderpig gave us a smallish lump of pear (not sapient so no worries ) and we intend a taste test in due course against other fruit woods, apple & cherry. These tins seem (emphasis on seem) a good, if a trifle expensive way of getting hold of small quantities.

I think you are spot on Keith in that they have a use, if an expensive one but they do look nice.

If you wanted to try some Andy I'll find out what woods Clive has and best delivered price.

Flavours available for discount Apple, Hickory and Alder as he has loads ... Clive's usual price is about what Andyr saw on Ebay £8.50 for 3 tins
