Hi guys,

Hope you are all well. First post so go easy on me. Am a total newcomer to proper BBQ - have liked it as long as I can remember and loved it since my first trip to the states but up until now have only been able to try and recreate versions on a small, home Charcoal kettle BBQ.

Recently I took the plunge and decided to follow a dream, purchasing a large charcoal grill fashioned from an old compression/gas tank. It's a good size, mounted on a towable trailer but is currently set up for direct grilling. To get the best out of it I'd like to get a firebox, chimney, warming chamber, etc for proper smoking so was wondering if there was anyone out there with the necessary skills/experience who could potentially advise or suggest companies who may be able to help?

Hello. Where abouts are you? Best of just looking for a local welder that can help, bigger companies will charge big money to make something like that. Near where I am there are loads of small steel fabricators working out of little units on industrial parks

Yeah, have already put feelers out for welders but thought this would be a good place to ask too - ideally would like someone who has done this type of job before and has an understanding of how the air flow, baffles, etc work. Am based in Glasgow.

Not much experience in that neck of the woods, almost the opposite end of the country to me Sure there are a few on here from that way that will help
