Is there anywhere I can get translations from American cuts (butts etc) to something my local butcher can get his head round please? Diagrams would be good I guess.
I quite fancy a shot at pulled pork but am not quite sure what to order.

For pork butt, please look up a post under pork butt dated 29th july by steve. He's got a buthers book and it shows the cut from the shoulder. Just print it out and take it to your butcher.
Welcome by the way. your addiction has just started.

Try this
http://www.bbbqs.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=693There's a link to the Amazing Ribs site, lots of useful information on where the different cuts come from using US terminology, as Eddy suggested take this to your butcher and point at the bit you want, mot people use one half of the Boston Butt, if you can ask your butcher for the half with the shoulder blade bone in it
