I just found you all while doing some research on smokers, I'm wanting to move from stove top smokers to a proper unit, my old BBQ got stolen over the winter so I've got an excuse to buy something more to my liking than just a grill unit.
I've been slow and low roasting in my household oven for a few years now, trying all sorts of rubs and marinades, and have a rather large collection of spices to blend at leisure, but I feel it's time to take the next step, I just need to convince myself that it's a good investment
I think I've settled on the Pro Q Frontier (although there are some bad reviews out there from the older version?), I would go Excel 20 but the price jump is a little steep at the moment and I'll want some accessories which always add up, (I have friends getting excited by both smoked pork, beef as well as cold smoked cheese and butter
I just ordered smoking & spices book thanks to Alice's Restaurant posts from her purchases for her husbands Christmas presents 2010
Chris
