Hi All
Does anyone slow cook in the indoor oven them finish by smoking on the bbq
Reason is the mrs can start off then I can finish when I get home pork shoulder can take a lot of time in bbq thanks

The problem with doing it that way is that the smoke will only coat the outside as the meat will not absorb a smoke flavour once cooked, granted the outside will take smoke but it won't taste as good as if fully cooked on a BBQ or if you reverse the process, smoke for a couple of hours then cook in the oven.

I've had friends insist that that works. Tried it. Doesn't work. Smoke first THEN oven cook if you must

Nah, no liner in this one, just the remnants of engine oil which I burned out

As above, I smoke for 4 - 6 hours, then foil it and bang it in the oven (or back on the smoker if I'm not doing more meat)
