Hi, hope this is in the right part of the forum if not please relocate
I have a Weber and noticed I have a flake of paint missing on the inside of the lower bowl exposing the metal, Im guessing one of my family had been using it and wont own up to the damage! Is there anything I can do to repair it? I have read about BBQ paints being toxic and not to use them on the inside.
Oil with the highest smoke point you can find (it'll develop the toughest seasoning) so something like groundnut oil, peanut oil or avocado oil would work well. Steer clear of olive oil or regular vegetable oil. Multiple seasoning runs will help develop a blackened coating that'll prevent rust
