Re: Hallo
Thanks for that Verminskti - they sound like the boys for me! Been having a bit of a Google around - can only seem to find them for delivery? Do you know any stores that actually stock them? Thanks mate!!

Re: Hallo
I've seen people say that they are available in The Range. Not sure if there's one in your area, but there is one in York. I've not checked for Heat Beads there though. I keep meaning to do so but then just forget

Re: Hallo
On a WSM I can get well over 8 hrs using 4kg of heatbeads , and the minion method.alithehat wrote:Minty - quick one. How long a burn are you getting from your heatbeads? And do you (dare I say it) use the minion method/snake method with them? Despite forecast of rain sun is shining in Yorkshire, desperate to get a pork shoulder on the go! Planning an overnight cook, and looking for some way to get a solid 8 hour burn at (or around) 225 from one lot of fuel? Realistic? Or am I dreaming?!? Thanks mate - and to anyone else that has experience of the best way to tackle this job! Cheers

I light 15 coals spread them evenly over unlit, close 2 of the 3 bottom vents 100% and just use the middle vent to control the temp,
If it's raining or cold you might need the the other vents

Re: Hallo
Excellent - thanks for that minty. I know that there is a anti-minion theory this side of the Atlantic...but I live the idea if such a long cook with minimal maintainance.
Gonna get the heatbeads in and give it a whirl next time!!!
Thanks fella

Re: Hallo
Have the shoulder in a cooler - stalled for what seemed like forevers but finally got it up to temp. Have got a coupla chooks on now with a kind of Caribbean jerk type rub on...aiming to eat in about an hour. Geek that I am...I will be whacking a stack of pictures on! Have you got your smoke on this weekend?
