A Quick Thank You To Our 2010 Sponsors

Post by Steve »

I'm happy to announce that Royal Q Pit Crew has secured two really great sponsors for the 2010 season.

Firstly we came to an agreement with Paul over at http://www.smokingwoodsupplies.co.uk a few weeks ago to supply our smoking woods. Paul supplies English hardwood chunks from his wood in Hampshire. I've been using his products for a couple of years now and I think they're fantastic quality and value.

Last week we added our second sponsor, http://www.cookequip.co.uk, a supplier of innovative cookware for home smoking. Cook equip has supplied us with some great toys

We'll be playing with these over the next couple of weeks and for those of you coming to the May competition, we'll have all the kit with us for people to look at and we plan to smoke up a few tasty snacks for people to try over the weekend too. The Cookequip website also has loads of recipes that are well worth a look. If you do decide to buy anything from them, please let Clive know it was Royal Q that pointed you in their direction.

We're really pleased to have secured these two sponsors and we just want to say a big thank you to them for supporting our team and the competition BBQ circuit in the UK!!!!!!!!!

Are you going to be posting some of the things you have been doing with some of these gadgets and gizzits?

Indeed I will be. I'd hoped to post some things already but the issues I've had with my back over the last couple of weeks have meant my physio has recommended no BBQ and no cooking :(

Apparently the posture adopted while over a stove, counter top is really hard on the lower back and I've got to concentrate on getting it better in time for the comp.

I'd like to say a quick thank you to our latest sponsor Fresher Pack http://www.fresherpack.co.uk

These guys specialise in vacuum sealers for home and small business users, their products are top notch. We've just received an Eiffel Pro Low Noise vac sealer from them and it's great. Strong vac pump, quiet, quick, no need to rest it between seals and to top it all off it has a liquid trap to help preserve the life of the pump too.

If you're in the market for a vac sealer, please do check out their website and if you do decide to buy one from them, let them know Steve at Royal Q pointed you in their direction.

The model I have is about £100 Al. But it has a moisture/powder trap which helps prolong the life of the motor and it works really well. I had an el-cheapo JML one before that packed up and the Eiffel has been much better. Adie has one too and I think he's really happy with it.

 I did think about it Clare.

They are excellent, thanks to Steve for showing me around it. I bought the quiet model with the vapour trap and it works a treat... it makes pulled pork sandwiches doable during the day midweek! :o

Steve, did the JML one work ok?? We have budgeted about £50 for one of these and your sponsor is a bit out of our price range right now, but the JML one (elcheapio) hits the spot budget wise :D

Clair,

I've bought one off Amazon which was only £40 which has great reviews from 37 customer reviews.

Here's the link.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-James-Qu ... 692&sr=8-1

They also have the JML one on there but it doesn't get such great reviews.

I'll be picking it up on Saturday so i can let you know how i get on with it.
