ProQ Excel door lock

ProQ Excel door lock

Hi all,

Can anyone PLEASE help us out here................the small locking door gear on our Pro is busted and we need a replacement.........anyone have any ideas what we can do??

Have you still got the three parts?

They come off really easily until you get some long nosed pliers in there and fix them up. If you need to get a replacement then I'd suggest you talk to whomever you bought the cooker.

I had one that did that and I fixed as per Steve's suggestion initially. Then I broke mine trying to get it to close tighter.

I untimately fixed it with a cheap door knob from B&Q and a little piece of my sons Meccano. :lol:

unfortuantely the door latch, handles and top handle are all very weak on the Pro Q I thought they would have been addressed in the new model but alas no. If you cant get hold of bits to fix it down there I will send you the parts you need.

Cool, thanks Toby - I fear that the metal strip on the inside part of the latch is lost forever in a pile of charcoal ash (even though we sifted through it ) :shock: , as well as the metal washer :shock: - the only part we have salvaged so far is the actual external handle itself - the rest seems to have gone forever! Will email you our address details shortly - thanks again for your help :mrgreen:

Brisket and Shoulder going on tomorrow for the first of many smokes in 2011....... 8-)
