I am not going to get the chance to fire it up until the weekend - but what is the usual noobie first smoke?

I am mad for chook, and really want to do some decent ribs - any tips on good noobie recipes?

Unfortunately I don't have access to a cash and carry card at all, but I have a great butcher in the centre of town here.

Probably not the cheapest BUT they always are helpful in getting the right stuff (got me some great haggis for Burns night this year). What should I be asking / looking for?

I got it all built last night when my wife went to bed early.
