Ashes (apologies to any Aussies)

Okay here is the cat to set amongst you pigeons. Ash from a BBQ/Smoker disposal of. Is it classed as biodegradable/compostable or landfill..........Discuss (please )

I spread it over my allotment as it is go for the soil.

Why do you have one yourself or do you know someone that has?

Its good for your lawn if you get the little bits out and its only ash.

No I have a paved horticultural wasteland, plus an inability to grow anything except my waistline.
It was just a matter of which bin to put them in

Eddie is completely correct, and yes, you should be able to put your ashes in your "green waste" bin.

However, if using on your own garden, or allotment, make sure you don't overdo it, as the ashes are alkaline, and too much will affect the PH of your soil.
