Buying a New Gas Grill! Help and Advice!!

Hi, i have recently been given the green light to get a new Grill . Any help and advice will be gratefully recieved.

My budget is around £500 to £600 but could be stretched a bit.

Does anyone have any recommendations. It has to be gas for safety as i have three young boys under 3. Also hooded as i want to rotisserie. So far i have looked at

Broil King Baron 490 and 590 and Signet and Sovereign 90.

Napoleon Ultra Chef 500, LE485RSIB, Prestige II PT450RSB ( More expensive but Awesome)

Also looked at swiss grill z360

Any comments? What about where to buy for good service/ after sales?

Personally if i was looking to spend that much money on something like that i'd look at green mountain grills and their pellet cookers which will be more versatile and are even easier to use than a gas BBQ.

If you're set on buying a gas BBQ, Napoleon & Broil King are well respected brands but i would also check out Weber.

Over time with Gas BBQ's you'll need to get spare parts so i'd always stick with one of the main brands as although some other brands might look great and have lots of cool features but when they break you might struggle to get parts which will be a real pain in the a##

I hadn't considered these, but having just seen the web page they have peaked my interest. Most of why i went for gas was convenience and safety for my kids. But having seen these they seem pretty good. Not sure how they would stand up to curious fingers changing the temperature on me etc though. From what i have read so far they seem better suited for low and slow ie in excess of 4 hour cook time. Can they really be used to just flip a few burgers and sausages before the kids mutiny??

best thing to do is get to a dealer with most brands in store and give them a feel where are you based? will probably be able to point you in someones direction.

I know what ed was saying about the pellet grill but you will have to consider the running costs which are considerably higher than a gas grill, and you do loose alot of control.

Im in worcester. I gave the bedfordshire place a ring and the guy was quite helpful and basically said i needed to come have a look as well. I was intrigued by the pellet grill i must say. i liked the flexibility of it. Just not sure the wife would be happy about it, that is until she tastes the food!

How much higher are the running costs? I normally might just about use a big tank of gas in one summer when it was just me and my wife and friends. Now we have the kids as well, and their friends....

Being practical it will mostly be used for burgers and kebabs sausages etc. I would like to do more with it as well but have to feed three young -under3- kids with it.

What about a Kamado..... (yes, I know it's not gas....)

I have two small children & was also worried about small hands playing with it. The outside of the Kamado does get hot, but much less so than the inside! At grilling temperatures, you are able to place your hand on the outside for quite a while.

Very flexible unit (grilling, smoking & as an oven) plus you get the lovely cooked-over-charcole flavour....

Just a thought....
