Hi From Nottingham

Hi All

My names Rob. Not much of a chef but I like trying. I am the Unit leader of an Explorer Scout unit and have got back my enthusiasm for cooking outside on a open fire / BBQ. I also did some Pulled pork in the oven recently and I want to be cooking more of the same but with real smoke.

Don't really own anything good in the way of BBQs. Mainly portable cast hot and fast jobs. As an engineer I'm looking to build a UBS and a barrel grill for use with my explorers and work out something nice for home.
I was never interested in gas BBQs before, but after using a few peoples I have to admit they are very convenient. That said I am still undecided on what to get.

Look forward to stealing recipes of you guys. :)

Welcome, welcome, welcome. Many people on here have made some good UDS smokers. Maybe you can exchange ideas in your quest to build one. As an engineer you may have some good ideas that you can share with us?

Looking forward in reading your post.

Welcome to the forum.
Ugly drums are easy to build and cook on, you will find lots of info on here about them.
