Smokey Joe

Post by slatts »

Hi All

As I self employed tiler, when I buy adhesive from Weber (don't think they have anything to do with bbq Weber) I get a voucher stuck on the bag, I've got enough points to get a Weber Smokey Joe bbq. Already got the wife an iphone docking station so I think i'm alright to get myself something ;) she does get all the money I earn anyway

Is the Smokey Joe any good for smoking or is it just a grilling bbq? I do need a charcoal bbq for grilling but is it big enough for wings, burgers and sausages, normal bbq food for 6-8 people?

Thanks
Slatts

The smokey joe has a 37cm diameter grill, enough for grilling for 2 maybe 4 people at a time (though not generous amounts). Some people have made mods to it using a tamale tin to convert to a mini WSM.

It's really suited to people who want a portable bbq for camping etc.

Smokey joe can be converted into a mini smoker.

It is also a very handy container to use with a cold smoke generator, for smoking cheese and stuff like that.
