Hey guys,

My names James and I'm from Notts.

I've decided to get more into BBQ'ing this year. When I moved into my house 18years ago I had a brick BBQ built, just to house a simple grill and coal base.

I've been reading through the forums for the last couple of hours or so and realise how far away from BBQ'ing I really am.

I can see that most people hear are more into the smoking side of outdoor cooking goodness rather than grilling, would that be a fair assumption to make? Or do you guys do bigger meats, ribs etc in a smoker and grill other stuff for a BBQ get together?

I may try a UDS as it seems a good cheap place to start and seemingly gives some great results, and keep the brick grill for burgers, sausages and those, Sat afternoon "Oh yeah, weather is dry lets have a BBQ" ;)!

Cheers for now

Hello and welcome

I'm 50/50 split regarding bbq and grilling. Most weekends have something cooked on the Egg from ribs to pulled pork, pizza and grilled stuff.

A UDS would be a great addition to your grill

I probably grill/roast more than I do slow cook. Depends on what we fancy eating and how many people I'm catering for

I think you're both right. I believe a UDS would be a good addition, and then I can plan to do something a bit more adventurous or just straight grill stuff as usual :D.

Cant wait now to get it built and see what I can come up with. Next stop is the recepies section of the forums to get some ideas for both.

Cheers guys
